This leadership role will be hybrid based out of our Niles, IL headquarters.

Responsibilities:

  • Establish a data governance culture within the organization by promoting awareness and understanding of the importance of data governance and its impact on business outcomes.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive data governance framework, including policies, procedures, and guidelines, to ensure the accuracy, consistency, and integrity of data across the organization.
  • Create and implement common data management processes, data quality standards, data management tools, policies and procedures.
  • Execute a comprehensive roadmap of data governance initiatives that align with and support our corporate strategic initiatives.
  • Contributes to business case development to help frame, justify, and gain approval for data initiatives.
  • Ensures all relevant stakeholders are aligned on priorities and the program's implementation and management. Facilitate education on data governance processes and best practices.
  • Utilize the organization's data governance processes to ensure fitness of data elements, both the content and metadata.
  • Data quality assessment, data remediation and cleansing, data conversion validation, data quality monitoring, development of risk-based performance and regulatory and compliance management (i.e., dashboards), and development and implementation of other business and accounting analytics.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders, such as Data Owners, Business, legal and IT to develop and implement enterprise data governance strategies aligned with organizational objectives and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitors emerging technologies to identify new opportunities for effective and compliant use of data assets.
  • Analyzes current business practices, processes and procedures as well as identifying future business opportunities for leveraging data storage and retrieval system capabilities.
  • Monitor, tracks, and reports ongoing data quality and data governance metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
  • Lead recruitment and training of Data Governance resources as needed, developing their ability to understand and resolve technical and data policy issues.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive communication plans to articulate the importance and benefits of our data strategy at all levels of the organization.
  • Create clear and concise presentations, reports, and other communication materials to explain complex data concepts and their impact on business operations.
  • Organize training sessions and workshops to educate employees about the proper execution and utilization of our data strategy, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field.
  • Minimum of 12-15 years’ experience in data management, data analysis, data quality, business data modeling, and reporting area including five years of management responsibility.
  • Minimum of 5 years people management experience.
  • Experience creating and implementing a successful Master Data Strategy and Governance Model.
  • Experience with SAP enterprise applications is highly desirable (ECC and S/4HANA).
  • Understanding of current (eg, HIPAA) and emerging (GDPR) data privacy regulation, and the ability to identify their impact and compliant opportunities meeting business requirement (for example: data architecture, data catalogs, data warehousing, machine learning)
  • Understanding of the Informatica cloud data management platform applications (Data Governance, Data Catalog, Data Quality, Data Marketplace).
  • Able to make final decisions on administrative or operational matters and ensures objectives are achieved.
  • Able to participate in corporate development of methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for projects, programs, and people.
  • Demonstrated ability of working on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires in-depth knowledge of the company.
  • Past interaction with executives and/or major customers involving negotiation or efforts to influence senior level leaders regarding matters of significance to the organization.
  • Past experience of having overall control of planning, staffing, budgeting, managing expense priorities, and recommending, and implementing change.
  • Ability to work on issues where the analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth knowledge of organizational objectives, as well as an understanding of company culture.
